With reigning Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier behind the wheel, they secured this prestigious achievement in a 150-mile qualifying race.
Moments after the victory, Earnhardt shared heartfelt embraces with team members, family, and his business partner, sister Kelley Earnhardt-Miller. The culmination of years of hard work and dedication materialized as Allgaier joined Earnhardt in celebrating a long-dreamt debut in the elite Cup Series. “I have always tried to manage expectations about reaching the Cup Series,” Earnhardt admitted. “But deep down, this has always been our goal.”
Justin Allgaier, a seasoned driver in NASCAR's Xfinity series, was ecstatic. With 25 wins and being a popular figure over 14 seasons, he felt the significance of competing in this historic race. “Racing in the Daytona 500 is a dream come true,” Allgaier said. Kelley Earnhardt-Miller added, Dad instilled in us the value of earning our success through hard work,” a principle they hold dear today.
While typically favoring a cold beer, Earnhardt might toast with something stronger after his collaboration with Grammy-winning musician Chris Stapleton, who joined their effort as a sponsor through his whiskey label. With such support, JR Motorsports' Chevrolet, powered by a Hendrick Motorsports engine, was a formidable contender at Daytona.
