Legacy on Ice Tribute

Olympic gold medalist Nathan Chen and skating legend Nancy Kerrigan will lead an unprecedented gathering of figure skating champions at Sunday's Legacy on Ice benefit. The event supports families affected by January's fatal plane-helicopter collision near Reagan Airport that claimed 67 lives, including 28 from the skating community.

This historic lineup – past champions, current stars, and future Olympians – shows how tightly bonded our community remains,
said 1988 Olympic champion Brian Boitano, who will host the tribute. The two-hour show features:

  • 2026 Milan-Cortina gold favorites Madison Chock/Evan Bates
  • 4-time World Champion Kristi Yamaguchi
  • 2-time U.S. Champion Amber Glenn

Organized in under a month by U.S. Figure Skating and Monumental Sports, the event will air live on Peacock with an NBC encore March 30. DC plane crash victims' families will receive 100% of proceeds through the Greater Washington Community Foundation.

U.S. Figure Skating CEO Sam Auxier emphasized:

This rapid response reflects our community's heart. From Peggy Fleming to Ilia Malinin, generations are uniting to heal through sport.

With 76-year-old 1968 Olympian Peggy Fleming joining modern stars like Isabeau Levito, the benefit underscores figure skating's unique capacity to transform tragedy into hope. Viewers nationwide can witness this historic collaboration while contributing to crash recovery efforts.
